The Broadmoor in-room magazine receives award

The 2010-2011 Broadmoor in-room publication as produced by WiesnerMedia recently was recognized for excellence by the Custom Content marketing industry. The Custom Content Council Pearl Awards were announced in New York City last week.

I’m particularly proud of this award as the 2010-2011 Broadmoor in-room publication includes some really amazing writers and friends of mine (Linda Duval, Lois Friedland and Irene Thomas to name three). I’m also pleased that two of my articles are included too! “Fit for a Princess” is about “fairy tales come true on a family vacation to The Broadmoor” and “Start Your Engines” is about “getting behind the wheel of a true NASCAR-style stock car at Pikes Peak International Raceway.”

The 2010-2011 Broadmoor in-room publication, produced by WiesnerMedia, provides guests with information on the hotel, its services and amenities, local businesses, events, as well as dining and retail establishments off-site. The magazine is available in print and digital formats. Access the digital version here: http://thebroadmoor.digitalpubfor.me/

The historic Broadmoor is one of my favorite places to getaway with my family. Check it out -- family friendly, or romantic and everything in between, you'll find it all here at The Broadmoor.

Devil's Thumb Ranch & Belgium: Brussels & Namu

Check out my web site's blog for my recent November visit to the environmentally friendly, year round ranch resort and spa, Devil's Thumb Ranch with an awe-inspiring view of the Continental Divide. We overnighted in their new Lodge.

Sustainability is key at Devil's Thumb Ranch . The owners have done an impressive job of using local resources to build the lodge even incorporating beatle-eaten wood as part of the new lodge construction. The International Conservancy have honored the Ranch with Environmental and responsible developemtn awards and top eco-friendly hotels in the world.

From a mountain lodge getaway, Tuesday I'm heading to Belgium to visit Brussels and then Namur -- a chocolate, castle and beer tour with a touch of romance in Namur. Dreading the long flight, first to JFK (with one connection in Charlotte) on U.S. Airways and then my first flight on Jet Airways direct to Brussels.

I'll be bringing my best pair of walking shoes and an umbrella.
More on that later -- I promise!
